Favorite Memory Game

Let's play:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

3. If you can't say anything nice, don't comment. If you do, I'll delete it OR point out what a jerk you are! (he he)

The Dark Night

While I have nothing exciting to write about on a personal level, I got to go and see The Dark Night with my mom, Alex and Deanna. It was AMAZING. Mat was not so happy that I went to see it without him, so I am sure we will be taking a trip to the movie theater this coming weekend, so he can share in my excitement. Heath Ledger was nothing short of brilliant. I will have nightmares about his creepy, lip smacking portrayal of the Joker for many months to come. What a rush.

Girls Trip

Well we had a great weekend, and I was not any sort of a trouble maker this trip. I made it on about 1/2 of a hike even. (when my knee started throbbing I found a rock under a tree and bonded with nature) We went on bike rides and walks, and just had a great time being together.

There was an awesome restaurant that we ate at called Cafe Diablo where we tried Rattlesnake Cakes, and dined on everything from Pork to Trout, not to mention that they had fabulous desserts.

My favorite part of the trip was sitting on the porch while crocheting dishrags or reading my book and listening to the wind blowing in the treetops. It was so quiet there. You forget what life is like when you remove all the background noise. And we even saw stars which are few and far between where I live. All in all it was a great time and I was grateful for the time away with my fab friends. (sorry no pictures, but all I had was a disposable camera)

Gettin the hell outta dodge!!!

It's that grand time of year when I get to take off with my Best Girl friends for a little R & R. Lacy and Shannon and I started this tradition 10 years ago and I think we have gone somewhere every year but one. We have even added a few friends to make it more exciting.

We have been to Las Vegas several times, San Francisco, Seattle, Jackson Hole, and this year we are venturing to Capitol Reef here in the great state of Utah.

I am hoping that all goes well with the trip and that I don't cause any major
trauma. I have been known to do that. 2 Years ago I fell and dislocated my knee in Las Vegas
and last year there was a minor incident with a very long hike and an
ambulance may or may not have been called due to my momentary mental breakdown,
with leg cramps that I was sure were going to kill me while visiting Jenny Lake.

My friend Kara is coming with her bike, and while she might be crazy enough to
WANT to bike 60 miles...yes I said 60 miles....I do not. I might get brave and bike
around the block.I also do not want to hike five 1/2 miles no matter how pretty it is at the end
of the journey. I hate hiking with all my heart.

So what am I going to do on this trip you ask?
Find a nice shady tree, with a good book and a glass of wine and see them at the
start of the trail when they get back.

4th of July Weekend Fun

We have had a really fun 3 day weekend, (which as of right now is not yet over thank goodness). We got Riley's new pool out on Friday and went for a swim in the afternoon.

He had a great time going down the slide and playing with the fishing poll and fish. On a funny note we left the pool up and went swimming again on Saturday. Riley decided that I needed to go down the slide too and while I made a great attempt the only thing I did was fall off backwards and into the pool on my head. Poor Mat was mowing the lawn and he looked over and all he saw were my two feet in the air....now where was the camera on that one.

This is Riley's new elephant compliments of Great Grandma and Grandpa North from ST George...isn't it magical??? What a lovely new addition to our yard.
Riley loves it!!!!!

We had a BBQ with our friends and their kids on Saturday. The kids had a lot of fun playing together. Riley was in heaven.

Of course the adults had to get in on the fun. Thanks Brian for taking some pictures!!!
Hope everyone else had a fun holiday weekend!!
Until next time.....later dude!!!
