Playing with friends

I had a Lia Sophia party last week and Natalie brought Karson and Mandi brought Sadie to play with Riley and they had so much fun. Riley spends a lot more time with adults than kids so he is always so excited to play with people his own age (even though he is not the best at sharing.) They had fun playing with the cars on the road mat that Riley has. Karson was funny, he had all the big monster trucks and he carried them all over. I think Nat was worried he wasn't going to leave them.

Here is Sadie in her Tu-Tu that Mandi made....can you say darling

Thanks ladies for bringing the kiddos over. Riley had a blast

Random Tag

I have been tagged to write six "random" things about myself that you may or may not know about me so here goes.

1- I hate taking showers, I am a bath kind of girl. In fact I think the last time I took a shower was right after I had Riley and because of my C-section I couldn't bath for a couple of weeks...IT SUCKED!!!

2- As soon as I get home the work clothes come off and the Pj's come on. As we call it in my family I "Gown Up". I also rarely get out of my lounge wear on my days off unless I have somewhere to go, and the drive up at Charlies to get a Pepsi doesn't count.

3- I have Raunauds Disease, (really poor circulation) which is not so bad other than it makes my feet and hands clammy and cold sometimes. (sick I know) Nylons really aggravate the disease for me and also wearing shoes with out socks which is why you hardly ever see me in a dress or in sandals.....the sandals part really sucks.

4- I have a fear of running out of gas so I always fill my car up when I am at about 1/2 a tank. It drives my husband crazy who will drive with the gas light on for 3 days.

5- If given the opportunity I would travel all over the world just to ride Roller Coasters...the bigger and faster all the better.

6- I love Christmas. I love decorating for Christmas. I love it so much that I put my Christmas tree up the day after Halloween if time allows. I am on the countdown Ü Me and Riley can't wait...Mat on the other hand...well you know how Mat is.

I now tag, Lacy, Shannie, Mandi, Natalie, Chantelle and anyone else who wants to play

Where did I get this gem????

Yes I am a Obama fan and now I can add a Michelle Obama pin to my Barack Obama T-shirt collection. I must thank my friend Jessica for bringing me back this beauty all the way from a Voodoo Shop in Hyde Park Chicago. How cool is that....and yes I will be wearing it all election week. Lacy also got a sweet pin as well that is equally as awesome as this one. Perhaps we can have our picture taken together.

Thanks again Jess!!! I love it!!!

Cowboy Up!!

Mat and Riley took off for a day at the C&B Ranch last Saturday and as you can plainly see Riley had the time of his life. Riding Bareback on Targy, taking 4-wheeler rides with daddy and getting to ride Buttercup with Maddie. In the world of a two year old- What more could you ask for

Not to mention that the rocks are plentiful, there is water to be found to throw said rocks (Thanks Uncle Tad), and there are cows, horses and even a moose. All in all it was a great day in Riley's world.

Jump, Jump

A bunch of us took our kids to Jumpin Jacks. They kids had a blast and I can't speak for anyone else, but Mat and I were pretty worn out by the time we left.
Sorry that some of the pictures are kind of blurry, but you get the idea.

13 Reasons why Riley Loves the ZOO

#13- The crazy Turkey that all but stuck his neck out so Riley could touch him.
#12- The Zebra's because they have black and white stripes that according to Riley
"Are just beautiful"

#11- The penguins, because they are so silly when they walk, and they swim in the water, and they make funny noises.

#10- The Tiger. He was pacing like crazy and taking BIG drinks
out of the water fall

#9- The Plastic looking Albino Crocodile. We visited him a few times and I don't think he
ever changed position. Riley also liked the baby Alligators
so much so that we had to buy a toy Alligator for him to bring home

This is the baby. It was the closest I have ever been to a Giraffe
#8- The Giraffes. And what does a Giraffe say according to Riley?
"I got a long neck" (thanks grandpa Dale)

#7- Rhinos because they have big horns on their noses and are just

about the most awesome animal ever.

#6- This CRAZY baby cat that wanted to attack everything in sight

#5- The Carousel that we rode 5 times. Riley rode an Elephant, a Rhino twice,
A Buffalo and a Praying Mantis

#4- Getting your picture taken with an eagle
SWEET

#3- Hanging out with the monkeys. I wanted to bring this
Orangutan home with me until he yawned and I saw his teeth.

#2- The super magical train ride, complete with Buffalo that are behind no sort of cage

and a tunnel which is great for screaming

And Riley's #1 reason for loving the zoo-

ELEPHANTS DUH!!!!

Hubby Tag

How long have you been married?- 8 years, 10 months and 3 days

How old is your husband?- 31

Who eats more?-I think he eats more than me, unless it's something he doesn't like. And there are many things he doesn't like.

Who said I love you first?- Mat did, I was a little gun shy from my previous relationship.

Who is taller?- Mat by about 5 inches

Who sings better?- We actually can both sing fairly well, so that's a toss up.

Who is smarter?- Mat for sure

Who controls the T.V. remote?- That would be me......

Whose temper is worse?- Mat has that Creviston temper, which anyone who knows a Creviston knows it's pretty ugly. I have three words- RUN AWAY FAST. But he doesn't get mad to often, and when he does it's usually not directed at me. I would say I get mad more often than he does, I just yell and then I'm done. When Mat gets mad it can last for a little while.

Who does the laundry?- Mat has been banned from the laundry room. He does help me fold it and put it away, but I don't let him touch any of my clothes with a ten foot pole

Who does the dishes? I load, he unloads. It's a joint effort

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?- No one- I sleep in the middle of the bed and he sleeps on the couch. In our next house I am hoping he goes for the idea of 2 master bedrooms like my mom and Tim have. What a great idea

Who cooks dinner?- We take turns. He is really good about helping with the cooking. Usually if I cook he cleans up and if he cooks I clean up.

Who is more stubborn?- That is a tough one as we are both super stubborn, but I would probably say I am more stubborn than he is.

Whose parents do you see more often?- We probably see my dad and Teri the most. Although Mat works with his mom so they see each other in passing and I probably talk to my mom and Tim every day

Who has more friends?- We actually share most of the same friends which is nice, but I would say I probably have more friends

Who has more siblings?- I do. I have 1 brother, 1 half brother and 3 step brothers, and Mat has one sister.

I would like to say that I am married to the sweetest man on earth. He treats me like a queen everyday and I know how much he loves and appreciates me, and that means a lot. I think we have a great marriage and I am so grateful for all the ways he takes care of me and Riley. He is truly the kindest person I know, with a big heart and a generous soul. I couldn't ask for a better partner in this crazy world. He is my center, my true North and I am a better person because of all he brings to my life. I love you baby!!!

Fun with the North's

My dad gets a cabin in Midway every year over Labor Day, so we all pile in the car and head up for a weekend of fun. This year was no exception. We did a lot of shopping in Park City and the guys played 18 holes of golf Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (Mat was really broke up about this one)
Riley had a great time, playing on the stairs, using a slat out of the blinds as a dragon, playing with the super cool elephant game Grandma Teri bought and body slamming everyone, with each and every opportunity that presented itself. Poor uncle Johnny probably needs a back adjustment. We played lots of cards, and while I got my butt kicked at Phase 10 I did hold my own in a few fierce games of Hearts. Uncle Boby and I even played a lengthy game of War in which he ultimately kicked my trash.
Grandma & Grandpa North also made it up from St George, and we were glad to spend some time with them this weekend.

This is Mason, one of the newest additions to the North Family. Riley wanted him to come outside and play with him, when that didn't work he settled on holding him for a minute

This is the elephant game that Grandma Teri bought.
Riley and Mat had a lot of fun playing this while the rest of us played cards.

Sadie came up with Justin for a few hours on Sunday and
I had the privilege of getting my hair cut....it looks awesome

Cheetos and a movie....good times

Time for a tea party. These two were a crack up putting the dolls down for a nap
and making some sort of chocolate concoction that they were going to feed
the dolls.
We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go again next year.
